From: "Elf" (elf@megsinet.net) dude During his second term Ronald was being affected by Alziemers. Remember a few years after he left office he suddenly had an "advanced case"? Its takes time to get to that stage. The country was basically being run by Nancy and staff - the country had its first lady prez and never knew it! Reading the papers or watching television these days is like reading the National Enquirer - its all sound bites and calculated for effect. Then lets run a poll a day later and get what the "people" think! bullshit on wheat toast......
I think the Alzheimer's possibility has little to do with the revision of
history. A cover up is very different from the thing that has been covered up. Also, the idea that Nancy
had anything to do with running this country at any time is quite laughable. This country has been under the control
of Bush #1 since the late 70s. As head of the CIA, he was in position to make deals with foreign countries (arms for hostages)
and OPEC (the oil "shortage"). Both things (along with others) were the beginning of control. Reply #2

From: "Jason Duvall" (jduvall@manic-recession.com) If you are going to claim to be as smart as you say you are, get a spell-checker – President “REAGAN”, alike all of the other Presidents, would probably appreciate their name spelled correctly.
Right now, I don't think he gives a shit. Thanks for the heads up that I made such a common mistake. I fixed them. As for the other points you made... oh, you didn't make any. How about that. Reply #4
From: "Brent Thomas" (brent@mac2001.com) Pat, Pat, Pat, I hope that being a cripple has not let you believe that you can't do things for your self. You are not owed anything by anyone. If you want something you must get it for yourself. If someone tells you that you can't do something then tell them to kiss off and do it! Don't buy into the Democrat's bull that you are a victim and only they care about you. You will hear bull from both sides. There are politicians on both sides. If you step back and take a look at both sides, for the most part Dems are for you being a victim and them taking care of you and Reps are for empowering you to make something of yourself. Reps will not do it for you or allow you to stay on welfare the rest of your life. You sound like a bright guy but when you talk about a conspiracy that the Jessica Lynch thing was staged.... give me a break! Next you will tell me that Sadam has been in our custody all this time and that his capture was staged as well. Also, the Regan thing was forced off public TV because it was a slap in the face to a great President. It contained blatant lies and presented him as a homophobic fool. This was not true. Nor was it in good taste. It would also be a mistake to make a movie depicting all of Clintons exploits with interns. It should never be made. It would not be respectful to a former President. As for Regans sickness... he did not suffer from old age in office. It is not allowed in our system for anyone who is not physically or mentally able to remain President. His sickness could not have been covered up nor would it have been. Do you recall the Carter years when interest rates were above 20% and some people paid 90% of their income in taxes? You wonder about all the farmers who lost their farms? All the unemployment? Just because Regan was elected doesn't mean all the damage of Carter went away overnight. Jobs are the last sign of economic recovery.
I could go on and on but I must get some sleep so I can be at work on
time. Brent

Dan Quayle's name is attached to that fucking "Manifesto of Forced World Dominance" ya know? One would think the Republicans would keep him out of it if they wanted to be taken seriously.

From: TGALLAGHER (tgallagher@sc.rr.com) I don't know about reply to remember, but here goes... This was all truly hilarious. That's not meant as a put down. I really got a kick outta all this stuff. First and foremost, I'm glad to see someone with such strong opinions. It's good to see people taking the time and effort to use their brain on issues other than 'where is that damn remote!' Although, I think any time you go 'pointing a finger of absolute knowledge' you're kidding yourself. Unless you were actually there and took part in what ever events your talking about, it's all just opinion. Looking at the 'Jessica Lynch story', I don't think there was a conspiracy, but I'm sure there was a lot of 'spin' put on the whole thing. I think alot of that spin was placed by the media (knowingly or not). If you go back to the story, I think you might see how a lot of the fabrication might have been done by people not knowing all the facts and making public statements. Pretty soon it turned into 'the telephone game.' People making 1/4 truths from 1/2 truths and connecting two completely unconnected stories to make the story we were actually presented. The media is always looking for that 'big story' or 'big scoop'. They managed to manufacture it. The best part was watching them make a story out of 'straightening out the story.' Kinda like that symbol for eternity (the snake consuming itself). If the media has nothing else to write about, it'll write a damn story about itself. I don't read the paper or watch the news (any news). I take that back. I listen to 60 minutes and NPR. I find too much hype and opinion. The news is the last place for opinion. I would like the facts and to be able to form my own damn opinions! Thank you! If I want an opinion, I'll read the opinion page! Your opinions, on the other hand, are welcome. I have always been a republican, but I appreciate what you are saying. Although, anyone willing to try and form an 'absolute opinion' in this world is a little confused. Anyone convinced Regan, Busch1 or Clinton were some sort of icons is a fool. I think Regan (when I say Regan, that signifies a group not an individual. God knows he didn't pull off all that crap by himself. I'm sure he was a little confused during the last term and needed some help. No, it wasn't Nancy. I'm sure the other boys on the hill didn't confide in her.) did some questionable stuff. As far as old Bill being responsible for the surplus. Don't kid yourself. He reigned during the hottest economy in US history. A surplus was a little easier to find in those days, but hot damn if he didn't go ahead and actually do it. (Sets a pretty good example, don't it.) Was he responsible for that economy? Were the repulicans? Nah! The circumstances that effect the economy are a little stronger than that. The economy is a little like the weather. It's gonna do what it's gonna do. One thing you can count on; If a republican is in office you'll have a political scandal. If it's a democrat, you'll have a sex scandal (except Carter). Daniel Gallagher
I think things like lieing to start a war so you and yer buddies can profit on it is a bit strong, don't you?

From: "Murrdok187@aol.com" (Murrdok187@aol.com) I honestly agree with one thing you've mentioned. That being your argument on Clinton and Regan. I liked Clinton alot. And I felt that the things he accomplished with this country during his 8 years in office were good. I even voted for him twice. And it's sad that the only thing he will be remembered for is getting his winki polished by a scuddy Intern. Wish I could feel the same way about Bush Jr, but honestly, I had a feeling before he was even elected things were going to get bad here. And they did as you can clearly see. Eh well, what are you gonna do?
Yeah, when the super rich get friends and family to rig an election ussually points to the fact that things are going to get bad.

From: "Daphne" (expensivewino13@yahoo.com) I have this thing for Benicio Del Toro. Don't ask. So, when I found him on a made for TV movie, I figured I'd rent it. It was the Kiki Camarena story. For any of you who don't know who he was, Kiki was an agent who was tortured and murdered in Mexico while trying to investigate the drug trade. That, by the way, is a horribly short wrap up. Rent the movie. Anyway, my bitch with Reagan and his stupid wife was how he reacted to Camarena's death. Instead of going balls to the wall and taking Mexico on in a cold war way, which he could have done, he pussied out with the war on drugs. The whole Just Say No originated because he decided to punish the people in our country who were hooked on drugs by sending them to prison instead of hitting the drug trade where it was at home. He opted to attack his own country because he didn't have the balls to do the right thing. The whole idea behind it was that the drug user is the main problem. Bullshit. I can't condone that much drug use, but the problem was the freaking cartel that was sneaking the shit in under our noses protected by a corrupt government. I could be very wrong in my take of this, and I'm sure Patrick will school me if I am, but this is what I inferred from the movie and then from doing some reading. So, I didn't like Reagan and especially not his wife because they chose the easy way out of the drug problem in the eighties. Which is funny. Didn't their child have some sort of addiction? Not sure. It was pretty crappy. Had I been Camarena's widow, I would have gone to jail for all the crap I would have said about Reagan and his wife in public forum. I know, that doesn't happen in this country? Did you know the US government had plans to deport John Lennon just because of his views? Yes indeedy. Man, I couldn't agree more with Patrick. Heaven freaking forbid we think for ourselves. Baa Ram Ewe.
There are those who insist (www.fromthewilderness.com) the US Gov’t itself is responsible for the majority of the world’s drug trade. After all, nothing else really comes close to its potential for overwhelming profit. If the Gov’t implemented a program that worked, like removing the demand for drugs by decriminalization, rehabilitation, and education drug addicts, the GNP would plunge. Therefore, other things that simply do not work, like the whole “war on Drugs” are implemented so average Joe Schmoe thinks something is really being done.

From: Anonymous You're so right, couldn't agree with you more. None of these politicans care about us, it's always their need first and if we're lucky we get glanced at. Well you're at least smart.
