Reply #1this is all false info i think considering i work for the Voorhees Fire Department. if u are going to publish information on teh web about us make sure it is the right info and not soem false stuff. u also have to understand that there are 3 fire stations in Voorhees. each one covers 3 different areas of Voorhees. the people that were directiing trafic might hvae been say from 66-99 (that is an example i wont give out a real one sry). so if ur gonna discriminate us then make sure u ahve the right info cause i dont enjoy this kinda stuff and none of the others do. people that are from other stations really might only know that part of voorhees. no matter what we r protecting our community and other communities like gibby, so shut the hel up and get a life.
Signed Look out; I think I made a new best friend. Well, let me take care of that. Before I even get into it, let me point out that I am well aware of the newfound hero worship of fire fighters these days. Everyone and their brother has jumped on the bandwagon, singing praises of the men and women who make it their duty to charge into burning buildings to protect the well being of people they most likely don’t even know. I am not one of those people. I have ALWAYS felt that fire fighter's are heroes. What is happening right now is somewhat of a fad, and it kind of pisses me off. People tend to forget, and within a year or so, the level of praise right now will disappear. Now to the reply... False info? What is false? A few things were brought to my attention shortly after this article was printed in South Jersey’s Courier Post. Things like the Voorhees Fire Department’s 6pm to 6am shift in 1998 was volunteer, and it was the volunteers who were called to this fire. Now, what else is false? You also said that I had to understand that there are three fire stations in Voorhees. This I understand. I also remember when there were four. There may have even been five at one time, but I don’t know. I do know that the fourth I speak of was just about a mile away, but the local government (in their infinite wisdom) had it closed down so they could show a larger monetary surplus. It seems they wanted to build a new township courthouse and police station and they needed the money, but the project was deemed wasteful, and it was voted down. Of course, the fire station was never reopened. This was all before this fire, and there was supposedly some confusion over which station had jurisdiction over this particular zone. Shortly after this article, I got a call from the township’s fire chief. I wasn’t home, but he did leave a message on my machine. He didn’t sound angry or upset at all, he just wanted to talk to me from the side of the fire fighter’s. I returned his call the next day, but this time, HE wasn’t home, and I left a message with his wife. I didn’t hear back. Please believe me when I say that I want you to prove me wrong. I know that I don’t have all the information about what happened that day, but I did watch the fire. It was just 75 yards away. Were you on the force in ’98? Were you at this particular fire? If you weren’t, but have colleagues that were, please have them contact me. I’ll post anything they have to say. I posted this article nearly three years ago hoping that it would spawn discussion. You’re the first to reply. Reply #2
From: Travis Pinson (t_pinson@bellsouth.net) Well, being a fireman, i aggree with some of your points to your story, you probably would not stand a good chance of getting out if there were that bad as you described. But remember there are two sides of the story and I would love to see the other side of it! It takes a special person to go running in a burning building, so I am crazy enough to do it day in and day out! Thanks for your free speech, the BK song was hilarious!

Travis, you're right; there are two sides of every story... but it was still a cluster fuck. I had some of the things wrong (like it was early in the volunteer shift), but no one bothered to say anything to me until more than three years later. Reply #3
From: "Timothy Vasicek" (erthkeepr@yahoo.com) Don't count on the Postal Service. At least not here in Denver. I worked at the Postal Service and it's ran by a bunch of idiots, with the exception of the local Post Masters. I ran into more than one employee who couldn't even spell C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O! If you can't spell it, how do you read an address with it? I'm sorry you have morons for firemen. That sucks.
Wow, if they are idiots to you, look the fuck out!
